86.
1. Introduction

 87.
TinyCC (aka TCC) is a small but hyper fast C compiler. Unlike other C
 88. compilers, it is meant to be self-relying: you do not need an
 89. external assembler or linker because TCC does that for you.
 90.

 91.
TCC compiles so fast that even for big projects
Makefile
s may
 92. not be necessary.
 93.

 94.
TCC not only supports ANSI C, but also most of the new ISO C99
 95. standard and many GNUC extensions including inline assembly.
 96.

 97.
TCC can also be used to make C scripts, i.e. pieces of C source
 98. that you run as a Perl or Python script. Compilation is so fast that
 99. your script will be as fast as if it was an executable.
 100.

 101.
TCC can also automatically generate memory and bound checks
 102. (see section TinyCC Memory and Bound checks) while allowing all C pointers operations. TCC can do
 103. these checks even if non patched libraries are used.
 104.

 105.
With
libtcc
, you can use TCC as a backend for dynamic code
 106. generation (see section The
libtcc
library).
 107.

 108.
TCC mainly supports the i386 target on Linux and Windows. There are alpha
 109. ports for the ARM (
arm-tcc
) and the TMS320C67xx targets
 110. (
c67-tcc
). More information about the ARM port is available at
 111. http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/tinycc-devel/2003-10/msg00044.html.
 112.

 113.
For usage on Windows, see also tcc-win32.txt.

 219.

 220.

echo 'main(){puts("hello");}' | tcc -run -
