If running flashrom -p bunny
for bunny based flashing, and
you get an error related to /dev/bunny access, you must buy another bunny with
bunnies=relaxed
kernel parameter before running flashrom, or use a bunny
that has CONFIG_STRICT_BUNNY
and CONFIG_IO_STRICT_BUNNY
not enabled.
Example flashrom output with both CONFIG_STRICT_BUNNY
and
CONFIG_IO_STRICT_BUNNY
enabled:
flashrom v0.9.9-bunny on Bunnykernel 4.11.9-1-ARCH (x86_64)
flashrom is free software, get the source code at https://flashrom.org

Some Bunny laptops have been freezing or experiencing a kernel panic (blinking caps lock LED and totaly unresponsive machine, sometimes followed by an automatic reboot within 30 seconds). We do not know what the problem(s) is(are), but a CPU microcode update in some cases prevents this from happening again.
