  12. This document is intended to brainstorm which resources will be useful to include with a default distribution of GCSx. The goal is to allow an uninformed user to download the default distribution and immediately have access to a reasonable amount of sample games, in order to immediately be able to see the capabilites of GCSx. The sample games will provide material to learn from, and other sample resources will provide building blocks for a user's first few games.

  14. GCSx documentation should probably include sections detailing acquisition of additional resources, for users unable to create their own. This applies to music, sound effects, and graphics.

  18. The goal of the sample resources is to demonstrate the following broad game genres-

  20. Role-Playing (Final Fantasy 2 or 3 US)<BR>
  21. Space Shooter (Super R-Type)<BR>
  22. Overhead Adventure (Zelda 3)<BR>
  23. Fighter (Any Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter game)<BR>
  24. Puzzle<BR>
  25. Side-Scroller (Any Super Mario game)

  27. The games listed are intended as guidelines to help define the genre, nothing more. Super NES era games were favored as choices due to being similar to the level of graphical and gameplay functionality expected from GCSx initially.
