zPlus do you have a preference?: I can mirror everything, the entire distro, the packages, or just the current.
Looking at some of the other mirrors, I don't see one that does everything without bugs. For example, the fileplanet.com mirror seems to mirror everything, except their search bar breaks with a 403 because it looks at the original site. Also, it references google, which I would like to avoid when possible.

mmm no, don't really have any preference... the How to contribute page however distinguishes between HTTP and FTP mirrors, and given that the FTP mirror requires "at least 40GB" I guess you should only try to mirror the HTTP one :)
1GB is still a lot though, I thought it would take far less than that.

LFS wrote back. To paraphrase, they said go for it, but also said our mirror might not see much traffic since so many others already exist in the California region. I think I'll lower this on my priority list and look into moving our mirror to another region.

I will contact lfs per the http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/contribute.html page.
Pending their response, I will probably just mirror everything and let LFS handle the search page issue upstream.
