  1. marathon-eternal-data (game data for use with alephone)
  2. Eternal is a free scenario for Aleph One, the multi-platform,
  3. open-source, first-person-shooter engine derived from Bungie's
  4. Marathon engine. It continues the story of the Marathon trilogy,
  5. and is a nearly total conversion, featuring:
  6. * Fifty-two new levels, some revisiting familiar locations from
  7. the original Marathon trilogy.
  8. * Over six hundred fifty new high-resolution textures, including
  9. a dozen original landscape textures, from a variety of human
  10. and alien environments.
  11. * Eight all new weapons, many of which must be scavenged from your
  12. defeated enemies.
  13. * Over a dozen tracks of original music, including many remixes of
  14. your favorite tracks from the original Marathon.
  15. * And several new creatures and characters, alongside the complete
  16. cast from the original trilogy.
  17. Included in the package is a shell script wrapper. Type
  18. "marathon-eternal" or select Marathon Eternal X from the KDE or XFCE
  19. "Games" menu.
  20. To install the gamedata in /opt instead of /usr to save space in the
  21. root partition use use:
