  4. This page aims to list all features currently supported by Godot.

  108. **Camera:**
  109. - Perspective, orthographic and frustum-offset cameras.
  110. **Physically-based rendering (built-in material features):**
  111. - Follows the Disney PBR model.
  112. - Supports Lambert, Lambert Wrap (half-Lambert), Oren-Nayar and Toon diffuse shading modes.
  113. - Supports Schlick-GGX, Blinn, Phong, Toon and Disabled specular shading modes.
  114. - Uses a roughness-metallic workflow with support for ORM textures.
  115. - Uses horizon specular occlusion (Filament model) to improve material appearance
  116. - Normal mapping.
  117. - Detail mapping for the albedo and normal maps.
  118. - Distance fade which can use alpha blending or dithering to avoid going through
  119. the transparent pipeline.
  120. - Dithering can be determined on a per-pixel or per-object basis.
  121. - *GLES3:* Parallax/relief mapping with automatic level of detail based on distance.
  122. - *GLES3:* Sub-surface scattering and transmittance.
  123. - *GLES3:* Refraction with support for material roughness (resulting in blurry refraction).
  124. On GLES2, refraction is still functional but lacks support for material roughness.
  125. - *GLES3:* Proximity fade (soft particles).
  126. **Real-time lighting:**
  127. - Directional lights (sun/moon). Up to 4 per scene.
  128. - Omnidirectional lights.
  129. - Spot lights with adjustable cone angle and attenuation.
  130. - Specular energy can be adjusted on a per-light basis.
  131. - *GLES3:* Lighting is done with a single-pass forward approach.
  132. By default, up to 32 omni light and 32 spot lights can be displayed per mesh resource.
  133. If needed, this limit can be increased at the cost of increased shader compilation times and lower performance.
  134. GLES2 uses a multi-pass forward approach to lighting, which doesn't have a
  135. limit on the number of lights but is slower with many lights.
  136. **Shadow mapping:**
  137. - *DirectionalLight:* Orthogonal (fastest), PSSM 2-split and 4-split.
  138. Supports blending between splits.
  139. - *OmniLight:* Dual paraboloid (fast) or cubemap (slower but more accurate).
  140. Supports colored projector textures in the form of panoramas.
  141. - *SpotLight:* Single texture.
  142. **Global illumination with indirect lighting:**
  143. - Baked lightmaps (fast, but can't be updated at run-time).
  144. - Supports baking indirect light only or baking both direct and indirect lighting.
  145. The bake mode can be adjusted on a per-light basis to allow for hybrid light
  146. baking setups.
  147. - Supports lighting dynamic objects using an automatic octree-based system.
  148. No manual probe placement is required.
  149. - Lightmaps are baked on the CPU.
  150. - *GLES3:* GI probes (slower, semi-real-time). Supports reflections.
  151. **Reflections:**
  152. - Fast baked reflections or slow real-time reflections using ReflectionProbe.
  153. Parallax box correction can optionally be enabled.
  154. - Reflection techniques can be mixed together for greater accuracy or scalability.

  265. As a result, creating new projects using visual scripting in Godot is not recommended.

  267. While Godot 3.x will keep VisualScript supported, we recommend
