  14. Other Files By Author : Ultimate MIDI Pack and contributions to numerous
  15. MIDI packs and WAD soundtracks.
  16. Description : Few Ultimate Doom WADs have stood the test of time
  17. as well as the 2011 E1 replacement "Double Impact"
  18. by RottKing and Ralphis, a collection of sprawling
  19. techbases with agile action. In addition to being
  20. released as a standalone PWAD, Double Impact became
  21. the fourth episode of the IWAD replacement
  22. Freedoom: Phase 1 in 2013, and in 2020 became an
  23. official add-on for the Unity port of Doom,
  24. introducing it to a wider audience than even the
  25. best Doom WADs usually receive.
  26. One small flaw in this otherwise great WAD is its
  27. incomplete soundtrack. The original PWAD contained
  28. two original tracks and two remixes of Bobby
  29. Prince's music. In Freedoom, due to the limitations
  30. of the engine, Double Impact simply reuses music
  31. from the first three episodes, in the same pattern
  32. that Ultimate Doom's fourth episode did, meaning
  33. that the music selections fit only a little better
  34. than random chance. This project aims to fix that
  35. flaw by providing a new soundtrack for the WAD that
  36. can be used with both the PWAD and Freedoom: Phase
  37. 1, and which, in the spirit of Freedoom, is
  38. absolutely free to reuse and remix.
  39. Special thanks : RottKing for Double Impact.
  40. Ralphis for Double Impact, and also for providing
  41. some early feedback on the idea for the project.
  42. Everyone who's contributed to Freedoom and the
  43. wider ecosystem of open-source software and games.
  44. Palitoman and Bobby were set to contribute to this
  45. pack, but never finished their contributions due to
  46. my (continuum.mid) lack of due diligence in keeping
  47. the project alive. Thanks for contributing and I'm
  48. sorry for taking so long.
