  70. My Strait Talk tablet plan ended last night, so today, I told orWall to block some of the things I had previously allowed to access the network, such as weather updates, then went online to activate the new plan card using the laptop.
  71. When I tried to activate it, the site told me that I was <strong>*required*</strong> to provide a mobile telephone number for Straight Talk to reach me at, but I do not have a mobile telephone line, or any telephone line at all.
  72. I thought I wasn&apos;t going to be able to activate my service! Luckily, the website allowed me to leave that field blank even though it said I could not.
  73. If a telephone is ever needed to get tablet service, I&apos;m going to have to switch carriers because I do not have or want a telephone line.

  76. Now that I have a client machine that is capable of running Minetest without overheating, I started working on Minetyst again.
  77. It seems that the code chunks I most wanted to salvage from my old work are missing.
  78. I don&apos;t know what I did with libtools, libstairs, or my spawn room generator.
  79. The rest of the code would be easier to just rebuild, so I would remember the context it&apos;s in, so it looks like I&apos;m starting my Minetyst work from scratch.
  80. </p>
  81. <p>
  82. On the Minetyst server, I ran into an issue that causes the game to crash when a sapling tries to grow on an unknown node.
  83. This was when using code from the minimal game, not code I had written.
  84. I wrote a <a href="https://github.com/minetest/minetest/pull/2790">small patch</a> to fix it, and small bug patches usually get pulled quickly.
  85. I wouldn&apos;t be surprised if the patch was accepted or declined as soon as tomorrow.
  86. </p>
  87. <p>
  88. My <a href="/a/canary.txt">canary</a> still sings the tune of freedom and transparency.
