- Hi xxxx,
- I understand why you may find this to be necessary for security; however
- if it is closed-source, there is no way to verify that it actually is
- secure.
- It is for this reason that I was trying to run a vanilla u-boot instead
- of the supplied one. Would you be able to at least provide the
- modifications necessary for the upstream u-boot to be able to make
- images that work on your boards?
- Thanks!
- Riley

- Hi Riley,
- I'm really sorry, we don't share u-boot source. We used to in the past but not any more. This decision was taken keeping the security of the users in mind. I hope you understand.
- If you have any other questions, please let us know!
- I'm setting this ticket to solved for now, but if you have any additional questions, feel free to reply to this email at any time and it'll automatically reopen the ticket.

- Hi xxxx,
- I understand that you cannot explain differences between airOS and
- openwrt, but the bootloader is separate to the operating system; it is
- not part of airOS.
- I'm not asking for support; I am simply asking for the source to u-boot,
- which is GPL. As far as I can tell, the modified u-boot source is not
- included in the GPL tarball that you sent me.
- Thank you for your offer to add modifications to the official firmware,
- but no change in the firmware is able to change the bootloader (for
- which a jtag cable is needed).
- Thanks!

- Hi Riley,
- Thanks for your reply.
- Unfortunately we no longer offer support for our SDK, and I'm not able to divulge in the specific differences between airOS and openwrt.
- If you want the SDKs for a specific reason (customization, additional features, etc), please let us know and we'll see what we can do to include this in the official firmware.
- We're sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused, and let us know if we can help in any other way.
- I'm setting this ticket to solved for now, but if you have any additional questions, feel free to reply to this email at any time and it'll automatically reopen the ticket.

- Hi xxxx,
- Thanks for your reply.
- I've downloaded it, but I can't seem to find the u-boot source. Could
- you please tell me in which directory it is?
- Reading from the below link to a thread on your forums, it would seem
- that Ubiquiti's u-boot is developed independently of OpenWRT, which
- might explain why it may have been left out.

- Hi xxxx,
- I'm thinking of purchasing a Nanostation LOCO M2. I would like to,
- however, make modifications to the bootloader. So, while I will
- eventually be flashing new firmware, that is not my primary concern.
- Thanks!

- To whom it may concern,
- I would like to have a copy of the source code for the u-boot
- bootloader, with your modifications for the Airmax routers, but I cannot
- find this on your website. Can you please show me where I could find the
- source?
- Yours sincerely,
- Riley Baird
