- To whom it may concern,
- I have been referred to the info team by xxxx of the support team with regards to ticket #145960. He has been extremely friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed working on the issue with him, but it appears that I have contacted the wrong department.
- In any case, this is my issue: I would like to have access to the GPL source code for AirOS v5.5.4, specifically for u-boot.
- There appears to have been some confusion along the way, so to save some time I will summarise the main points below:
- -The GPL requires Ubiquiti to provide the source for any binaries that they distribute.
- -This is a legally enforceable copyright license.
- -Security is not a legally valid reason to refuse access to the source.
- -I understand if the info team is unable to make a decision on this issue. In that case, please put me in contact with your legal team.
- Yours thankfully,
- Riley Baird
