  10. Author : Bloodshedder (Bill Koch)
  11. Email Address : bloodshedder@doomworld.com
  12. Other Files By Author : jazzdoom.wad (Made a few years ago, not entirely
  13. proud of it :P)
  14. hrcave.wad (Heretic level created by my brother,
  15. published by me)
  16. chipdoom.wad (The original Chiptune Doom)
  17. Misc. Author Info : Part of the Doomworld staff
  18. (http://www.doomworld.com/)
  19. Description : All the original Doom 2 tunes remixed into
  20. chiptunes via Impulse Tracker (IT) format. If you
  21. don't know what a chiptune is, basically it
  22. emulates the sound of the NES, Commodore64, etc.
  23. music engines in the form of tracker-based music
  24. (MOD, XM, S3M, IT, etc). It should be noted that
  25. these songs were converted BY HAND, without the
  26. aid of a MID->IT converter of any sort. In
  27. general, the drums are not the same quality as in
  28. most chiptunes, but better.
  29. Additional Credits to : Tyler Pantella (picklehammer), whose MOD classes
  30. were my inspiration:

  32. Jeremy Elder (SgtCrispy), gave me pre-publishing
  33. listening and encouragement:

  36. Chiptune Doom praise in Doomworld's /newstuff
  37. Chronicles.

  58. Deathmatch 2-4 Player : N/A
  59. Other game styles : N/A
  60. Difficulty Settings : N/A
  61. * Construction *
  62. Base : New from scratch
  63. Build Time : Several months
  64. Editor(s) used : ModPlug Tracker and MIDI Orchestrator Plus! for
  65. music, WinTex and XWE for inspecting and
  66. inserting into WAD files, WadPTR for compressing
  67. the WAD to save some space.
  68. Known Bugs : There are some arpeggio problems in MAP32's
  69. music, D_ULTIMA, which is a bug in FMOD (the
  70. sound library ZDoom uses), so the song doesn't
  71. sound quite like it should in-game.
  72. The various module players in various source
  73. ports don't support crisp interpolation of the
  74. music, so the songs may sound a little cracky at
  75. times. If you want a fuller listening experience,
  76. save the music lumps to IT files, or look under
  77. "Web sites" at the end of this document to find
  78. them in their native IT format. The songs sound
  79. best in Winamp.
  80. May Not Run With... : doom2.exe, any source port that doesn't support
  81. tracker-format music (check your docs for MOD,
  82. module, or tracker support). Not sure if any
  83. ports besides ZDoom support this.
