#420 Changing the path to download the zip file

I was installing the game files on my steam deck on the sd card and the issue is that i have only 70 gb on that sd card and that isn't enough to download the zip and extract it. So i put the sd card on my pc and i used a symlink to try and use my main drive to download the zip and extract it on the steam deck 's sd card. The issue is that it was still wrote the game's zip on the sd card. It would be great to add an argument to the install script so you can specify the temp path.

You can just download and extract the game yourself, it's not a big deal. Nothing really complex happens there.

The update script should handle the case where ../_update_gi_download is a symlink to any directory with enough free disk space. If this does not work, please open a new issue with reproduction steps and error messages (if there are any).

If you have another game installation on your desktop PC, you might as well copy the unpacked files directly using an SD card adapter.

I already tried to copy the files from my pc but every time something gives errors and on my pc the files are bigger because i have multiple languages. For the simlink i made a folder on my pc and then in dolphin i drag and dropped it on the sd card and renamed it like the folder where the bash script downloades the game's files. I'm sure that it was writing to the sd card because it was writing files at the speed of the sd card and i didn't have any disk usage on my main disk

Just download the main ZIP, extract it onto SD and apply the patch manually.

Voices can be downloaded later from the game itself.

I tried that too i wanted to use the script because if it stops itself i can retry instead coping it normally doesn't let me do it. i even tried to change in the bash file the download path to point to my main drive but i couldn't check the md5sum. I think it would be a great addition to put before downloading the files to download it to the current drive or to the /tmp/ folder on ur main drive or a custom path(for the zip file) and the game files on the current folder
